Midi click with GT22 and Axe III

When I was using the MFC-101 and the Axe-FXII connected via 7-pin midi, if the midi cable was close to a power cable, there was an audible tempo click. This was not an issue using the FASlink connection. Now that I am using a Axe III and about to be a GT22 owner (it hasn't shipped yet), I am wondering if 6-pin midi XLR or 7-pin midi DIN is better at rejecting interference. I have a extension cable in my snake for powering my Voodoo Lab ISO-5, along with a pair of 25' Mogami cables carrying audio. Just trying to determine which method to phantom power my new controller, and the stuff on my pedalboard. Has anyone experienced this issue?

The quality of the MIDI cable is going to be more important than your choice of DIN or XLR. MIDI signals are 5 volts, much higher voltage than instrument level signals, and they can bleed through cables that are not well shielded. If the cables are good and everything is grounded properly, you shouldn't have any problem with noise.
