I'm going to be building a "small but mighty" rack as a demo of our Rack Gizmo. Lots of stuff in 6 rack spaces. It'll be mainly documented in our blog:

Sounds cool... but a 6U is a mini rack these days? What's my 4U then?

In the world of the big-name rig builders, 6 spaces evokes responses of "aww, that's cute". Definitely not something to be taken seriously. I don't know what they'd say about a four space rack.

That said, I'm all for changing this perspective! I think more people would do the rack thing if they'd realize a well-thought out rack can be small and really easy to transport. Okay, you can't put every 90's era LA studio toy known to man into the thing, but you can certainly get a huge array of effects into a small space.

Working on the power supply now and building me a nice Big Muff clone!
