Post Switching channels and master volume on Marshall JVM
Hi there,

nice to see that you now have a forum up and running.

I'm running my Marshall JVM 410H with a TC Electronic G-System and control the JVM via midi.
One big thing i'm missing with this setup is the possibility to switch to second master volume on the JVM via a button of the G-System
since i don't want to programm another preset on the G-System for that.

The JVM cannot handle midi CC's and the relay switches of the G-System don't work with the footswitch jack of the JVM.

So here is my suggestion for amp gizmo / mini amp gizmo:
Make the channel switching on the JVM work with amp gizmo ;)

I think many JVM users out there would love to see this feature.

Cheers
Matthias

We have had a few people ask for this, but I'm not sure if it's even possible - the footswitch interface on this amp is probably the most complicated one ever invented. The best thing would be for Marshall to add CC support to the amp, but I know that's unlikely.

I may look at it if there's enough interest, but it would be a huge effort to develop a cable - not something I could afford to do unless there's a lot of demand.

Hm, sounds not as good as i expected
But anyways thanks for you answer.

What's the problem with that footswitch design though?
Is it the fact that it uses different voltages for "coding" the pushed button so the amp knows, what button was pushed?

Cheers
Matthias

The footswitch uses some kind of birdirectional serial protocol to communicate with the amp. It's pretty clever, but requires a far more complicated footswitch than normal. The benefit is that you can use a standard guitar cable to connect the footswitch - no weird multi-pin cable required.
