noisy compressor

My compressor makes noise even when it is not included in the current patch. I thought the whole idea of loopers/switchers was to take pedals in and out of the chain. Anybody know why it would still be noisy (normal compressor noise, not a hum or ground loop) even when it's not selected in a given patch?

I don't know why that would be. Which loop is it in, and have you tried other loops?

Is the compressors loop set to On and "locked" on the Audio page of the editor? I believe this would override all preset settings.
