5 & 7 pin MIDI cable max length

Running GT22, Kemper and POWERED RJM 5 pin to 7 pin adaptor. Currently running a 40 foot 7 pin midi cable from BTPA which works flawlessly. I need more length. Crazy, I know. I need about 80-100 feet.

If I continue to use the 5 to 7 pin powered adaptor, will a 100-ft 7 pin midi cable still work?
 
MIDI says the maximum is 40 feet, although we've made 75 foot cables that have worked fine for data transfer. I don't know about 100 feet, though, never tried it. It's extremely unlikely you'll be able to phantom power a GT22 over a 80 foot or longer cable, though. You'll probably have to power it directly with an adapter.

So, I guess the bottom line is that it's all unknown territory, the only way to know is to try it, I'm afraid.
