A question for you all

Will this have full midi capability like the gt series with the usual midi out port?

I use 2 Eventide H9s and a Strymon Timeline/Mobius. It seems that every year a really cool midi programmable pedal gets released. It would be great to have 2 expression pedal jacks and the ability to send multiple PCs and CCs. Based on the description so far, this product will be a game changer.

The brains of the unit will be the same as the Mastermind GT, so there will be the potential for a lot of MIDI capability. It won't be quite as comprehensive as the GT, but multiple CCs and PCs per button will certainly be possible.

There will be two expression pedal ports and one external switch port that supports two switches.

Super excited about the potential of this unit. It seems like the direction the product is headed in will certainly be great for my needs. I looked the mastermind GT + a looper but I would much prefer to have one unit with 10 loops all in one with midi and the functionality listed in the latest mentions that I can use as the main controller in a large pedalboard. At least two stereo loops is critical for me to work with the big sky and timeline. Pricewise I'd like to see it fall somewhere in the same ballpark as the G2 and the mkiv when that gets released, I'm ready to buy now but I'll hold off s bit especially if we can get an idea of release date which will hopefully be by end of summer.... fingers crossed this becomes a reality soon. I haven't had any experience with RJM as of yet but the dealer I've spoken to had only great things to say about the you guys. :)

It's still in the works, just delayed due to how long the Mastermind GT 2.0 firmware update is taking. I will post as soon as we have some news.

The new firmware is out! I don't even own a GT, but I'm excited because that means this new switcher is RJM's "top priority." Can't wait!

A few things I can mention: 10 loops (divided up 4/2/4), definitely USB connection to PC and flash drive like the GT has (although the editor will not be out until a few months after product release), LCD display (one of them), Switch Gizmo type amp control (2x 1/4" TRS), last four loops are stereo capable with TRS jacks. The output can be stereo, or you can use the two outputs to A/B between two amps (with iso transformer and phase switching)

It's been delayed because the Mastermind GT 2.0 firmware is taking so long, but will be out as soon as I can manage it. It's still too early to have a price for it.

I just got the newsletter in my inbox about this "idea." It's just what I was looking for. Racking my Effects Gizmo inside a pedal board under a GT10 was going to be labor intensive. To be honest, the lack of a product like this from RJM was pushing me toward the One Control unit. It was either that or have a pair "loop master type" boxes under the board and have the switches replaced with jacks and controlled by a pair of Mini Amp Gizmos. Again, more custom work that would be that much more expensive. I already have a ton of money invested in your products. I haven't had any issues with them as of yet and that's a pretty big deal for me and the reason why I have stayed with the RJM stuff.

I would suggest this though: Having a unit that is similar to one you described (4/2/4 with TRS switches) and one that is three sets of loops (like the EG). Hell, you could make them all series if that would make it cheaper. I would guess that the space would be the same. I'm guessing the PCB's would probably not be much different either. I only need loops for the front of my amps. All my post FX and amp switching are taken care of by the other RJM units I have already bought. I know the 4/2/4 idea will be a much bigger seller, but for many of us that are already heavily invested with RJM gear....... well, it's just an idea.

Another question: I'm guessing that all the loops will have the same Loop and Write "push button" type programming that the EG does. Will the two TRS switching jacks on this unit be accessed this way as well? If so, only having 10 loops as opposed to 12 can work out for me as I can put my overdrives in one loop and have them switch on and off with the 4 Switch Gizmo functions that this new unit will offer. This would actually work out perfect. The ease of progamming is what I love about RJM.

Yes, it will be "hold the write button" type programming for all of the basic features including the switching jacks. There will be 11 buttons on the controller, so you will need to switch to different "pages" of buttons to access the individual loops and the switch outputs. I'm not yet certain how it will be implemented in the final product, but we will definitely try to keep the number of button presses required to a minimum.

Is this something that might be ready by Sept or Oct, or is it a long way off?
