Axefx metronome on CC?

Hi everybody,
I found out that I can turn on metronome on the axefxIII. Axefx says it is done with CC127. RJM editor has mixer 2 on CC127.
How can I find out which CC (if any) controls the metronome...?

Unfortunately, the way we do things will prevent CC127 from being sent. All of the Axe-Fx support was based on some assumptions, and them using CC127 breaks those assumptions.

Is that CC number able to be changed in the Axe-Fx's MIDI settings? If so, moving it to CC26 or lower would allow you to control it with a regular CC. Any CC number higher than that will be converted to Fractal's proprietary Sysex messages before sending.

Newer generation Fractal Audio devices (e.g., Axe-Fx III, FM3 and FM9) do not use fixed MIDI CCs. You will have to assign a CC for the Metronome. This can be done via SETUP / MIDI on the unit or its editor. Assign a CC that is lower than #34 that isn't currently in use, sending a value of 64 or higher to turn the metronome on, and a value of 0 for off.

A little more detail:
Because the AxeFX III doesn't use fixed CCs, you have to assign them manually. The clever people at RJM created a system that translates certain CC commands to Fractal Audio's sysex format. So in the RJM editor, you'll see a large number of functions as pre-programmed commands. This is super handy, and it saves a lot of configuration effort. Keep in mind that the RJM system will convert any CC messages higher than #33 to sysex; any CC messages from #33 on down are sent as normal CC messages. Hence the recommendation above to use CC26.

FYI, on Axe 3, FM3 and FM9, only CCs 26 and lower are able to be used as normal CCs. 27-33 are used for looper control, and 34 is scene, as always. Looking at the code, CC#4 is also off limits. It's used for the control block, and I can't even remember what that is!

Thank you, So I've set the metronome to CC25 on Xfx and MM. This is working okay.
Problem is that I have no record of CC's and where they go.I may have already assigned something to that CC...
I don't understand what is happening at CC's higher than 26... but I can conclude that if I want to assign anything manually I should use CC1-CC26?

Based on the response from RJM, I think CCs up to #26 are the appropriate choices, noting that #4 should not be used. Glad to hear you got the metronome up and running!

The metronome took the place of the tuner. (tempo hold).
Now I want to restore tuner on a different location but can't find it.. I put that on axfx on cc24 but that doesn't do anything...
There is also on rjm editor the option: system, tuner. This activates the tuner screen on MM with a question mark and does not activate the Axfx tuner...

ok I combined system, tuner with CC 35 which is tuner in RJM editor. Works!
Now just hope I did not have other things on those CC's...

You can check for this in the AxeFX or its editor. Scroll through the CC assignments to check for any duplicates. I wish the editor could generate a report of CC assignments since we have to do them ourselves.
