Bidirectional Midi Question (patch changes from Ableton)

My band uses backing tracks live that are played using Ableton Live. I have also got Ableton Live sending patch changes to the GT using a second midi cable into the Remote In port which works great but... I really just want 1 cable to the front oof the stage and not 2. I already run phantom over the 7-pin DIN that goes from the GT to my rack. Is ther any way I could also run the signal from Ableton down the same cable using the BiDirectional option to send the patch changes?

Yes, with the right cabling, you could use the secondary pair of wires (pins 1 and 3) as a MIDI input. Just make sure that bidirectional MIDI is turned on.
