Cycling algorithms/engines

Has anyone conceived a way to have a single button that cycles algorithms or engines on devices like a Timeline or Ventris or Synesthesia? I'd love to make a button that let's me access all of them, but IA Cycle only does 4 steps. Is there a way to send "current CC value + 1"? Maybe you have to make presets that use those engines? I suppose you could possibly make an expression pedal setting that sweeps through the engines, but that seems really imprecise. Thoughts?

For context, this isn't for live playing, but for experimenting at home and finding new sounds.

Sorry, there isn't any way to do that, currently - except for the workarounds you mention, which may or may not be good solutions.
