Here's a quick how to on setting up an expression pedal to control an Axe-Fx.

First, make sure your expression pedals are set to send the right messages to the Axe-Fx. The Axe-Fx has 12 parameters labeled Ext Ctrl 1 to Ext Ctrl 12. These are the only parameters you can use with an expression pedal. All the other effect parameters are used for CC on/off switching only.

The fastest method to set up the pedals is to enter Setup Mode, go to Setup Devices, then select the Axe-Fx device. Press "Set Default Pedals". This will set expression pedal 1 to control Ext Ctrl 1, pedal 2 to Ext Ctrl 2, etc.

Once you've done that, you need to go into each preset on the Axe and assign which pedal does what. Let's say you want to use expression pedal 2 to control a Whammy effect. In your Axe preset, select the Pitch block (which should be set to the Whammy mode). Move to the Control parameter, then press Enter. Adjust the Source parameter to Ext Ctrl 2.

That should do it. You can map all four pedals to different parameters in each Axe preset using this method.
