Firmware and editor version 5.3.1 are now available!

FEATURES:
  • New device support:
    • Chase Bliss Mood mk II (fixed previous attempt) and Onward
    • GFI Duophony
    • Morningstar ML10X
    • Strymon Big Sky MX
    • Quad Cortex: Added individual scene CCs (Scene A, Scene B, etc.)
    • Kemper: Added looper buttons (for real this time, had some wires crossed last release...)
  • All devices can now be set to respond to incoming PCs. For example, let's say you have a device on channel 5. If Ignore Incoming PCs is turned off, incoming PCs on channel 5 will cause preset changes on the GT. And, specifically, an incoming PC on channel 5 will never result in the Mastermind sending a PC on channel 5. This prevents MIDI PC feedback loops.
  • The above feature is probably not needed or desired in most cases. As a result, Ignore Incoming PC and Ignore Incoming CC are now the default setting for most devices.
  • The Set Preset PCs to 0 and Set Preset PCs Sequential buttons in the editor now ask for a preset and bank number. This will set all preset PCs for a device to a specific bank and preset (in the case of the Set Preset PCs to Value button) or it will assign sequential PCs starting at the given PC and bank (in the case of Set Preset PCs to Sequential)
BUG FIXES:
  • It's once again possible to recall presets that are not in the active setlist.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause buttons to incorrectly send their messages more than once when using Set IA.
  • Fixed expression pedal issues when in Remote Mode.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the previous screen to stick around after cancelling a Preset Number menu.
  • Fixed an issue that caused tempo to continue to be displayed on buttons when MIDI clock is turned off.
  • Added the missing Alt Preset Color setting in the editor
  • Fixed numerical editing (like BPMs) on Mastermind GT/10
  • It's now possible to show both preset numbers and scene names at the same time on the main screen
  • Fixed an issue where drag and drop in the editor, followed by Send Changes To Device, didn't result in all data being updated correctly.
And, one overall change - to make room for new features, I had to remove the non-bold fonts for the main display. The main display will always display in a bold font now.

You can also read the full change log if you like.

UPDATE 12/17/2024, Version 5.3.1

Version 5.3.1 adds support for the following devices:
  • BluGuitar Amp1
  • Chase Bliss Clean, Habit and Lossy
  • Diezel VH-X
  • EHX POG3
  • Friedman IR-C, IR-J, IR-X
  • GFI Enieqma, Solus Ventis
  • Kemper Player (still needs a USB host adapter to connect)
  • Radial Engineering JX-44 v2
  • Two Notes Opus
  • Walrus Meraki
and fixes the following bugs:
  • BPM changes made using System / BPM actions can now be stored using IA Store buttons and actions
  • IA Cycle menus now highlight the active option no matter which row the buttons are in
TO UPDATE FIRMWARE:

PLEASE DON'T DO A MAJOR FIRMWARE UPDATE RIGHT BEFORE YOUR BIG GIG!

- First, back up your settings to a flash drive or computer! If you go back to 4.7 or earlier, your Mastermind will factory reset.
- Download and unzip the firmware file.
- Copy the file to a USB flash drive, and remove any other .rjf files from the flash drive.
- Eject the drive from your computer.
- Power on the Mastermind while holding the two small buttons under the main screen.
- Keep holding until you see "Mastermind GT Bootloader" appear on the screen.
- Now plug the flash drive into your Mastermind. The update should begin and will take a few minutes to complete.

- Download and unzip the firmware file.
- Use the editor's Transfer / Update Firmware menu option to update the Mastermind. This works with Mastermind GTs made after March 2019.

THIS! It's been a top wish-list item for me. Thank you for resolving.

I love my MMGT16 and it would take a herd of samurai wombats to wrest it from my touring rig. Yes, that's oddly specific, but you know how touring life is.

I don't know if I'm just wonky, but I just tried to load this newest firmware, and followed the instructions written above. I don't know if there are different circuitry within the MMGT line of devices, but holding button 1 and button 3 while powering up did not initiate the bootloader, but just loaded my usual layout of controls I have chosen (e.g. eight scenes in the bottom left section, IA buttons all around, ...). I decided to look at some of the previous firmware releases, and found 5.1.0 described the process as follows:

- Power on the Mastermind GT while holding the two buttons under the main screen.
- Keep holding until you see "Mastermind GT Bootloader" appear on the screen.
- Now plug the flash drive into your GT. The update should begin and will take a few minutes to complete.

This older procedure almost immediately took me into the bootloader, and from there 5.3.0 loaded beautifully.

I just wanted to bring this up, just in case there are others running into this issue, and perhaps deciding to just stay with what they already have, instead of futz around.

Please feel free to remove this posting, if I am missing the point.
Cheers,
Lee

Sorry about that, that was a copy & paste error from the PBC instructions. I've corrected it, thanks for pointing that out!

Fuzz mode still does not seem to be working :(. My fuzz cleans up really well with the buffer off, as soon as I turn the buffer on it is full on fuzzed out. My fuzz loop is on fuzz mode. ‍

This time, I tested it extensively. I'm not sure what's going on in your configuration. You don't have any loops turned on in front of the fuzz, do you?

The settings say that they were from a unit running 5.2.1 - are you sure your unit was properly updated? It should report 5.3.0 on power up.

Oke, I'm really sorry. It is working. I had a Deja-Vibe before my fuzz, but while testing, I bypassed on the pedal itself instead by turning off the loop (the loop would turn on every time after I hit 'write changes to device') with the idea that It wouldn't matter (since it is a true bypass). Still, because loop 1 was on, the buffer didn't turn off. My bad sorry!

Whew! I'm happy to hear I didn't screw it up this time! Glad to hear it's doing what it's supposed to now!

"It's now possible to show both preset numbers and scene numbers at the same time on the main screen"

I'm not seeing that option in the editor?

You should just be able to turn on both Show Scene Names and Show Preset Number in global settings.
