    • Chase Bliss Lost & Found
    • Electronic Audio Experiments Prismatic Wall and Sending

    • Old Blood Noise Endeavors Dark Star, Bathing, Black Fountain and Signal Blender
  • The number of available button groups has been increased to 16
  • The maximum number of auto taps has been increased to 20
  • Changing presets now cancels any auto tap in progress
  • Added a "Resend" special value for the System / BPM action, which causes the current tempo to be sent again via auto tap

  • Fixed a bug that caused issues when sending settings to the Mastermind, when an alternate preset was selected
  • Fixed a bug that allowed the Sysex ID to be set to invalid values
You can also read the full change log if you like.

TO UPDATE FIRMWARE:

PLEASE DON'T DO A MAJOR FIRMWARE UPDATE RIGHT BEFORE YOUR BIG GIG!

- First, back up your settings to a flash drive or computer! If you go back to 4.7 or earlier, your Mastermind will factory reset.
- Download and unzip the firmware file.
- Copy the file to a USB flash drive, and remove any other .rjf files from the flash drive.
- Eject the drive from your computer.
- Power on the Mastermind while holding the 1 and 3 buttons.
- Keep holding until you see "Mastermind Bootloader" appear on the screen.
- Now plug the flash drive into your Mastermind. The update should begin and will take a few minutes to complete.

- Use the editor's Transfer / Update Firmware menu option to update the Mastermind. This works with the PBC/6X and PBC/10s made after March 2019.

Does the resend option send with every preset change or in what scenario does it trigger to resend? I was having difficulty using my strymon volante without midi clock and the auto tap works great, but if I changed presets within a song it reverted to the preset's tempo saved on the volante and there was no way to resend taps with preset changes. Sounds like this would help with that if possible. Thanks Ron!

It does it when the action is run, by any method. You could try adding the action as a preset action to one preset and see if it works.

interesting. If it works, what would be the easiest way to have this be a default action for every preset?

I think you could;

(1) just add it manually to every preset, as a Preset Action
(2) add it to both the ON and OFF state of a button that is set to "Send on Preset Change" so it always gets sent no matter what
(3) you could enable the "Ignore Preset Tempos" option so when you change presets within a song, the Mastermind doesn't change tempo

Yeah option 3 wouldn’t work with the volante because of how it handles preset tempos. But option 2 is probably the move. Thanks!

My GT22 will not start the bootloader to load the FW. I've held the two small buttons under the main screen while powering up at least a dozen times and it just starts normally? This is an older GT22 purchased in 2013. I have a newer model that works fine. Is there an alternate procedure for the older model?

The two small buttons when held do get me into the setup screen just fine so I know they are functioning properly.
