Mini Mixer in Effects Loop W/O Switcher

I'm interested in using the mini mixer with my effects loop of my mono amp without using a switcher. How would I set it up?

I assume I would use a Y cable coming out of the 'send' of my amp. Then, one end of the Y cable would go into the 'dry' input of the mixer. Next, the other
end of the Y cable would feed the input of my multieffects device. In turn, the output of the effects device would feed into the 'input #1' of the mini mixer.
Finally, I would take the mono out of the mini mixer and feed it back into the 'return' of my amp. Is this correct? Anything I need to worry about?

Of course, my fx would be set to 'dry kill'. Thanks!
 
Yep, that's how it's done. It shouldn't be any trickier than that. (Unless you want to use more than one effect in parallel...)
