would it work use Randall RM 3 button channel switcher into my MMGT22 remote input jack and not affect MMGT and still be able to switch channels on amp?

The RM3 is actually a MIDI controller, although a very small and simple one. If you turn on MIDI Thru, plug the RM3 into the Remote In, and provide power to the footswitch through the power jack, then the GT will pass MIDI commands from the controller to the amp.
