I thought all 5 pin midi cables were the same but these Roland cables did not work,....(midi messages messed up and a clicking sound) which ones do I need??
I'm surprised that Roland would make bad MIDI cables, but clicking is definitely a sign of poorly shielded cables. We sell good ones, and so does Best-tronics (www.btpa.com) - hand wired, properly shielded, connectors with full metal shells, etc.
@rjmmusic can you confirm it is a 3 conductor 5 pin midi cable needed? I'm pretty sure the Roland were 4 conductor. Also which ne on your site would work for the PBC/Axe III ? Link?
Thanks!
I recommend 5 pin active cables because they will work in all cases. 3-pin active cables are just companies trying to save a few pennies, and don't have any other benefit.
