Please recommend a setup diagram to allow me to use these two amps with pedals before the preamps and pedals in the fx loop of one of my amps. Here is my rig: 2 amps - Bogner XTC 20th anniv. & Fender Twin. I use the Bogner Fx loop and leave the Twin dry with the exception of a distortion pedal in front of it. Pedals before the preamps: Plimsoul distortion (before the Bogner), Wampler Triple Wreck distortion (before the Twin), Lehle Sunday driver boost/buffer (wherever?). Fx Loop (Bogner): Analogman Minichorus, Eventide Timefactor, MXR Carbon Copy, Holy Grail reverb. I use a ground control pro footswitch and have the Bogner midi controlled by RG-16
I currently have this setup
Guitar -> Wah -> Plimsoul -> Triple Wreck -> Volume pedal -> RG-16 input -> out to Sunday Driver -> Loop 3 Bogner XTC -> Loop 4 Twin -> Loop 5 input from Bogner fx loop send, then Loop 5 to Mini-chorus -> Loop 6 Timefactor -> Loop 7 Carbon Copy -> Loop 8 Holy Grail, and out to Bogner return fx loop. I use an Ebtech hum elim in front of the Twin to reduce hum.
I have each loop on instant access and I have presets on Ground control to use either or both amp. Sounds gorgeous ....but.....Obvious problems/questions are: 1) I really only want Plimsoul in front of Bogner only (adds extra cut to any of the three channels on Bogner), and Triple Wreck in front of Twin only (sounds great when combining distorted twin with the natural distortion of Bogner) ..but programmable on presets so can program both clean or both dirty. 2) I like to have distortion pedals in front of Volume pedal so full gain at lower volumes (2 volume pedals?), 3)Is there any disadvantage to running amps in loops 1-4(series) vs 5-8(isolated/parallel) since I am sending to amp but not returning to each corresponding loop and is signal split appropriately without me using a lehle p-split? 4) Where is best place to put Sunday Driver?
Appreciate your input!!!
