question about the Y-Not

Hi,

I hope this is the right forum for my questions...

Would the Y-Not and Mini Line Mixer allow me to use 2 different tube preamps, one at a time AND both at the same time, without any phase or other audio problems?

I've got a Fractal FX8 pedalboard that allows the "4 cable method" that I want to utilize. I also have Mesa TriAxis and Recto preamps, and a Mesa 290 power amp. If the Y-Not and Line Mixer would not work as described above, what would be a better way to do it?

I know I'll also need the Mini Amp Gizmo to control the 3 voicing latch switches on the 290 power amp. So I'm thinking MIDI OUT from the FX8 to the MIDI IN of the Y-Not, MIDI THRU of the Y-Not to the MIDI IN of the Mini Amp Gizmo?

Yes, you could use the Y-Not to feed the two preamps' inputs and the Mini Line Mixer to mix the two preamp signals down.

The only change you'd have to make is that the Y-Not has to be the last in the MIDI chain because it does not have a MIDI thru.
