[EDIT] External Switch triggering midi to expression pedal midi channel - how do I stop this? (midi trace and screenshots included)

Hello, I have two external switches connected to the 6x by a TRS. External switch 1 is tap Tempo and it works. External Switch 2 is set to IA store. When this switch is pressed, IA store executes, but midi is also triggered and sent to the expression pedal midi channel. Also, if I cycle the expression channel on the 6X, external switch 2 triggers different midi commands as per below. Each row is a trace of the midi coming out of the 6X after I change the expression pedal midi channel to 5,3,4 sequentially. Any idea how to stop this?
