Effect Gizmo - Function switches

Can the Effect Gizmo be used for function switches. I don’t see dedicated spaces like on the back of the PBC Mastermind

I have loops 1-6 being used but want to be able to use it for function switching like the “hold” feature on an Ibanez DM2000.

Loops 9-12 can be used as single function switches. Use the loop output as the switch output, and don't plug anything into the input, send or return.

Beautiful! If I use output 9 as a function switch that controls the “hold” function on a DM2000 what does the programming look like in the editor when I’m editing a specific button.

It's the same as if you were setting up the button to control a pedal in loop 9 - no difference on the programming side. For example, you can just right click on a button, then select Assign CC > Effect Gizmo > Loop 9

Any cable requirements here? Standard TS cable work? Not working as described. Have it in “output NO”. Maybe it should be in the “send loop” so it’s sending signal?

It should just be a TS cable, and Output/NO is the right output, unless the device you're controlling requires a normally closed switch (pretty unlikely)

So this is what I have programmed. It’s in Loop 9/NO and it doesn’t appear to be working. These operate as a latching function switch, unless Momentary is check, correct?

Do you see anything incorrectly programmed? IMG_4909.jpeg

That looks correct. It would be better to just operate the Effect Gizmo from its front panel for these tests. See if it works that way before bringing in the Mastermind.

Ok. So in doing this, it appears the signal is being sent and it is functioning as intended. Now how do I incorporate the Mastermind to control?

The button settings look correct. Does the loop 9 LED on the Effect Gizmo turn on when it's supposed to?

So I’m not home to check but let’s run through two scenarios so I can troubleshoot when I get home.

Scenario 1 - no they do not turn on
Scenario 2 - they do turn on

What’s next steps for either.

If the LED doesn't turn on, there's something wrong in your Mastermind settings, probably a conflict between two settings.

If it does turn on... I don't know... that would be puzzling. Maybe settings, maybe something wrong with the Effect Gizmo.

I wouldn’t even know where to begin on that. Any ideas where that breakdown could be? Is there something on the Global page that needs to be checked/switched?

I’ll be home to check on the operation but I’m 99% it doesn’t turn on when programming via right click > assign CC -> cc#X, or the manual entry of “add action”.

I figured it out. Had to turn on audio loop 7 in setup mode as it didn’t default there like it should have (per manual). We’re rocking!
