Programming in editor without a mastermind GT

I have been using a mini amp gizmo in my rig for about 12 years now and it still works flawlessly! I’m looking for a new midi controller and would like to pursue the mastermind GT. I don’t yet know whether I would like the LT, 10, 16, or 22. Could I begin programming with the editor now before I decide upon which model to purchase? … and then, once I purchase a particular model, change the model number in the editor and still have all of my programming work?

As noted by the admin's response, yes, you can do this and it'll work just fine. When you change the model number in the editor, it'll obviously change the number of buttons / displays that you will be working with. I have owned both the MMGT10 and MMGT16. I currently have the 16 on my main touring board. I'd recommend you look into the way you can send multiple commands on a single button press, as this might influence the decision on which model to go with. On my main "Presets" page, I have the ability to scroll through banks of presets; when I select a preset, I also switch to a dedicated page for that preset, which has specific commands set up within that preset. I use a Fractal Audio AxeFX III, so this approach lets me access all of the scenes within an AxeFX Preset, plus have dedicated switches for other functions. Doing the programming and planning before you get the device will allow you to experiment with how you'll use the LT / GT live. The displays on the GT series are critical to my use onstage, as my presets are fairly complex and vary significantly from song to song.

I have been using MIDI control pedals since the 80s, and will confidently say that the MMGT series controllers are the best I have ever used. They're incredibly powerful, and simultaneously very easy to program. And you can't beat the top-notch service this company provides. I'm not an endorsee. I pay full price for my gear like anybody else. Very satisfied customer here.
