Switching amp channels with the Ctrl switches

Can I program IA buttons to switch my amp channels using the ctrl switches or must this be done inside a preset?

The external switches can be programmed to control amp channels on a MIDI capable amp, or they can send commands to a device like a Switch Gizmo to control an amp. This can be done without switching presets.
