Tap Tempo Button Doesn't Flash

I have a Tap Tempo button set up to send instruction to my Kemper Profiler (set to Slave) with one-directional MIDI and a single MIDI cable. While the button works, I have this issue. Flash w/ Tempo in Button Edit page is checked, but the button on the PBC doesn't flash. Does bidirectional MIDI need to be set up for this to work?

Also make sure Update on Preset Change is turned on for the button (I badly need to change this to be more obvious, but that should be the only thing you need to change)
 
The button's off color and on color are the same. Set them to be different and you'll see a flash.
