Always on pedal before PBC instead of input buffer

Just an idea: I run always on boost pedal (Fulltone Fatboost 3) before PBX 6/X. Would I gain / loose something (tonally or functionally related) in case I turn off the input buffer?

I have tried this with my home setup - 15 W clean tube amp - and I have not heard / noticed any difference. Maybe with my main amp I will notice something, but I was just wondering what are other's users opinions / experiences.

With a pedal up front like that, wouldn't expect there to be any noticeable difference with the buffer on or off, but I couldn't speak for all rig configurations.

Thank you. I assume that the input buffer is there only to fix some tone coloration by transistor matrix, am I right?

It's there to prevent tone loss from any source of resistance or capacitance including your cables and the PBC/6Xs switching matrix.
