AxeFx: block turns on by itself when using Wah

I'm using External 2 to control the wah and External 4 tot control the Formant.
Both use auto engage.
When using the wah, sometimes the formant is switched on.
When looking in AxeEdit, I see the value of the External 4 gone to maximum and so switching on the formant.

To be clear:
I use a button to switch my 3rd pedal between 4 different Ext's on the Axe-Fx:
- Ext3 - Whammy
- Ext4 - Formant
- Ext5 - Speed (for rotary, tremoloes and such)
- Ext6 - Delay Mix

Even when Whammy is selected (Ext3) the formant engages when using the Wah
 
This is almost certainly on the Axe-Fx side, since the auto engage function is handled entirely by them. Have you asked on their forum as well?
 
I just did.
But I was also looking for a way to check the midi messages going to the Axe-Fx.
I tried with Midi OX but no success.
 
No, I couldn't see anything in MidiOx. I could see them in Axe-edit and see how Ext4 suddenly jumped to maximum.
But I have not found a way to display the Midi data in MidiOx
 
Where are you monitoring? A MIDI interface connected to the MIDI Thru of the Axe-Fx would be the best place.
 
I'll give that a try. I can connect the thru of the Axe-Fx to my Focusrite's Midi in.

I've tested with MidiOx and it's the AxeFx that turns on the formant block while all CC's were sent on CC#12 (Ext2) which I use for the Wah.
One strange thing though.
Sometimes there is a MSB message being sent as well.
But not always.
