Controlling HX Stomp 'Snapshots' with MMGT

Hi- I'm wondering how to turn on/change Line Six 'Snapshots' with my MMGT. The goal is to have a guitar rhythm preset with dry effects, then turn on a delay for a lead, then turn the delay off for rhythm. The Snapshot CC number is 69 and the values are,1,2,3 etc for different Sapshot assignments.
Would I use an IA button for this where I can program it to send a CC of 69 with a value of 1 for delay on, then press it again with a value of 0 to turn the delay off? The basic idea is that I want a delay on/off button similar to a stomp box.

Snapshots aren't the feature you're looking for - a snapshot will control the on/off state of all your HX Stomp effect blocks, not just the delay block.

If you want to control delay only, it's possible but will take a little more work. The instructions are in the HX Stomp manual, in the section "Block Bypass via MIDI". In short, you assign a CC number to the delay block, then set up an IA button on the Mastermind to send that same number. On most devices, those numbers are pre-assigned, which allows us to automate the process a little. But, for whatever reason, you have to set it up manually on the HX Stomp, which makes it necessary to set it up manually on the Mastermind as well.

Thanks, I wanted to keep my post brief so I didn't mention that the other blocks in the preset will remain "on" (there's only a few), and the delay block is the only one I need to turn on and off (the HX Stomp is placed in a real amp's effect loop, so it's only for delays and reverbs) Snapshots allow the delay trails to continue after the block is turned off/snapshot changed. So I was wondering if I could set up an IA to switch back and fourth between a snapshots 1 and 2 (delay block on and off) and the other blocks in the snapshot will remain programmed as on in all snapshots. Basically I can assign the MMGT to be like a button on the HX Stomp. Let me know if I'm on the right thought process.

You could do that, as long as the two snapshots are exactly the same, except for the delay block state. You would create a Snapshot IA button, then edit the values to be something like this: off:0 on:1. This will select snapshot 1 when the button is off and snapshot 2 when the button is on. (the numbers are off by 1 when selecting snapshots).

Thanks, I’ll give that a try. I’m using the MMGT itself for programming, I haven’t learned the editor software fully yet. I’m guessing I would select an unused IA button, then I’m not sure what steps to take from there. I have the CC number and values though.

From the setup menu, edit a button, then select Button Actions. Add an action, then you can assign Device, CC number, off value and on value. The action type should be CC Toggle, which if I recall correctly is the default. Once you've set up the action, select Done. Make sure that SndOnPrst (send on preset change) and UpdOnPrst (update on preset change) are not turned on in the button settings before exiting out of the menu.

Thanks, that worked. I appreciate that the MMGT is fairly easy and intuitive to guess my way around and eventually find the right menus and programming commands. It also worked right out of the box with the MEG-X. I still have a lot to learn though, but the way it’s designed makes it easier. Cheers-
