Display Illumination

How is the display illumination turned on?
Mine is dark and won't illuminate.

Sounds like a problem. Can you see anything at all? If you can, you can adjust brightness/contrast in the setup menu (hold loop 1 and loop 3 for 2 seconds).

Unfortunately no, not even a whimper.
The retailer asked me to send it back in the am.
