Expression pedals in IA

I have three devices that I want to control with a single expression pedal and I would normally want to control a single device at a time. I have entered the devices on the globals page as ExpPdl 1 to 3 and so far I can only get whichever device I put as ExpPdl1 to respond.

I know that you can override within a preset, but can you do it in IA? I have two external switches that I want to set up for specific effects that I'd want to recall at any time, like wah, whammy, or a volume effect, and would need to specify which device to control. Thanks.
 
Still would like to know if it's possible but I'm finding out that it's a nightmare to have it set up that way ... too many ifs and thens. It might be better after all to deal with presets for applications like this.
 
Currently, there's no way to have an IA button affect expression pedal settings. It is a frequently requested feature, and so will likely appear in the not too distant future.

Presets are definitely the best way to go at the moment.
