External MIDI Tap Tempo

I've been thinking about getting rid of my Selah Quartz in favor of using my PBC 6/X for all tempo control. I only use one delay pedal, so the only usefulness of the Quartz to me is in the extra switch for tap tempo. I would rather not give up a preset switch on the PBC though, so I was wondering if it would be possible to turn a switch on my Morningstar MC6 (currently used mainly to select pages on the PBC) into a tap tempo. The PBC would still be the master, but ideally would still be able to take that input and send it on to all other devices. Is that possible?

Yes, with the right adapter cable (to split the MIDI port into an output and an input), you can turn on MIDI Merge in the PBC and it will forward any MIDI messages coming into the MIDI input.
