Firmware Update Not Working

So my MM PBC is still on the 4.0-Beta and apparently has the BootLoader 1.1, if that makes a difference. I have the RJM flash drive with a single rjf file on it (MM413.rjf) and I can't get either update method to work. If I power up to the BootLoader and plug in the flash drive, the screen says that it can't find a valid file, and that the system (factory?) file is _MM311.rjf. If I try to go through the menu, I get into System Functions and then can't scroll past "Save Settings." I see that the other options are there (Init Preset Names, for example), but I can only select "Load Settings" or "Save Settings." This happens whether or not there the flash drive is plugged in.

What am I doing wrong?
 
My guess is that the drive needs to be formatted correctly. Try reformatting on a PC, or on a Mac, use Disk Utility and make sure the drive is set to FAT format and MBR partitioning. Then copy the file again.

Another thing to check for is that your drive is ejected properly from the computer before pulling it out.
