Firmware Update Question

My apologies if any of this has already been covered.
I am about to go into a tour with a guitarist next week, unfortunately we do not have any rehearsals to go through editing/ updates etc. They have a set up with the PBC 10 that is running Firmware version 4.3.

-Has there been any issue related to updating firmware and skipping previous updates or should I update chronologically?

-I am not sure what OS they are running on their laptops yet (one Windows, one Mac) but am I correct to assume that they will probably have to do a system update to support V 6.1 of the editor if they are now currently supporting V. 4.3 ?
I would like for both of us to be able to do any edits since there is not yet a dedicated laptop to the rig.

Skipping from 4.3 to 4.6.1 shouldn't be a problem, there weren't major changes between those versions.

The Windows laptop isn't going to need to be updated, all versions of the editor support Windows 7 and up. The latest editor needs MacOS 10.13 (High Sierra) or later.
