Insert loop on off?

Hi All,

I’m new to switchers and RJM equipment and just picked up a used PBC6X and need some help. I performed a system reset to wipe the previous owner’s settings off and updated the firmware to 491. When wired up 4CM as shown in the manual and in loop mode it bypass the front of my amp and acts like I’m plugged into the return of the FX loop. When I use it out front I get no sound at all. What am I doing wrong or was I sold a broken switcher?
 
The first situation (your amp's preamp is bypassed) is definitely due to the insert loop not being turned on. In settings, you can lock the insert loop in the on position so that it remains on at all times.

I'm not sure about the second situation, that seems surprising because the PBC's output had to be working for you to get any signal at all. I recommend fixing the above issue, and see where that gets you.
