MIDI via USB

Is it possible to send MIDI signals (clock and PBC preset changes in particular) to a PBC 6/X via the USB port? I'm currently designing a large pedalboard rig for a client, and he would like to be able to control it via USB from his Ableton keys rig, rather than having to add another interface to his setup.

Yes, we have a lot of customers - including some big names - controlling their Masterminds (GT, LT or PBC) from Ableton or other playback systems.

Just set MIDI Clock to slave to receive clock, and set MIDI Receive Channel to something other than None for program changes. There's a page or two in the manual describing how banks & program changes map to songs and presets.
