Mini Amp Gizmo and GCX Connectivity

Hi,

As the title suggest I am looking for information on connecting the MAG with a GCX. I have read about the compatibility mode and it all makes sense. The only thing I am wondering is can I connect the MAG first in the chain then the GCX? I am using a LF+ JR+ as my midi controller and it is connected and phantom powered my the MAG. So MAG Midi Thru to the Pedal In on GCX. I realize that the Pedal In on the GCX has a flow of power from it. Will this harm the MAG?

Connecting like that is no problem. The pins that carry power from the GCX are not connected on the Mini Amp Gizmo.
 
Is the idea that once in GCX mode (switch 5 on in setup mode) you can control the loops via the 8 switches on the MAG?
 
No, the MAG switches can't be used to control the GCX loops, only whatever amp is connected to the MAG
