PBC 6x reading speed problem

Hi there,

I have one problem,

First, My PBC and Editor is newest release version,

At some point, the speed at which the editor reads the device settings became too slow. (about 3-5minute....)
The speed of writing settings and writing changes doesn't seem to be much different.

Has anyone experienced this phenomenon??
How do I fix it??

I'm not sure why that would happen... Do you have another computer you could try it with, to eliminate one variable?

Edit: and a different cable, too.

Thanks for reply,
I already try 2~3 different cable, but still same phenomenon..

I'll try another computer!

I should also ask - did you just add a lot of local button pages? Adding those increases the size of the settings file and that will increase the transfer time somewhat.

I try other cables and other mac, still slow reading...

I find original reading speed case,
1) when remove midi cable on PBC,
2) when non-check MIDI Forward box

I find little faster than my problem case,
1) when decrease midi loop on RJM midi box

I'm not sure why this would happen, this isn't something that I've heard of happening before. Are you using a Windows PC or a Mac? And, can you describe what you mean by "decrease midi loop"?

Sorry to my low quality English communication... Y.Y

First, I use Mac, first time try using m1 max macbook pro, second time try using m4 mac mini

decrease mini loop means,

midi loop include
1) Disaster area smart clock, Mercury X, Lvx, Mobius, H90
2) -----------------------------, Mercury X, Lvx, Mobius, H90
3) -----------------------------, Mercury X, Lvx
4) when unplugged pbc's midi connetor

Reading time
1) about few minute...!!!
2) under 1 minute
3) under 1minute
4) few second...!!

when use Disaster area smart clock.. too much increase reading time...

so i give up using ex-clock,,,

It does seem like the problem is due to MIDI forwarding and also the MIDI messages generated by the Smart Clock. This is resulting in too much traffic over the USB connection. At least, that's my guess.

I'm going to look and see if it's possible to make the GT turn off MIDI Forwarding during the settings transfer process, then automatically turn it back on again when the transfer is done. I think this would be the best solution to the problem.
