PBC Midi connection to Echosystem without a Midibox

Is it possible to use a custom cable to directly connect the PBC or H9 5 pin Midi out/through to the Empress Echosystem 1/4"Trs Midi in without the use of a Midibox?

Has anyone had success with this and what cable configuration did you use?

I haven't done that exactly but it's definitely possible. I made a custom 5-pin to 1/4" TRS cable to go to my Jackson Audio Bloom. You just need to make sure to use the configuration compatible with Empress. Goodwood Audio sells them (among many others), but on the page where you buy them they actually give the wiring config diagram:

Actually from that description I guess I have done exactly that - Empress and Jackson use the same config.
