PBC6X w/ Jackson Golden Boy

Hi all,

I have my Jackson Golden Boy connected via the Disaster Area Midibox 4. I had success making an individual button page for it where I can fully control (screenshot).

However, I'm having difficulty controlling it during preset creation in the editor. I've attached a shot of what I have right now. When I send the CC message of 1 w/ value 127, the Golden Boy LED just flashes once really quick, and doesn't stay on. Almost like it's momentary, but I have the message set to CC Toggle. I can't figure out what's going on here or how to make presets and still control the Golden Boy in those. Since the specific button page I made let's me control it that way, I'm wondering if all of the messages need to be IAs somehow?

Not sure, a bit confused on this one and hoping someone can help!

One or more of your IA buttons probably has Send on Preset Change turned on. The preset action is setting sent first, but then any IA buttons IA that have Send on Preset Change also send messages. Your preset action may be sending an "on" message, but the IA is sending an "off" immediately after.

So, when you're referring to IA buttons with Send Preset on Change - do you mean the button page associated with the preset? I have my presets mostly all set to button page 1 and I checked all my buttons and they're not set to "Send on Preset Change". I've added some screenshots as well. I can't really tell where I'm going wrong here.

Any IA button on any page that sends a CC message to the Golden Boy is what you need to look at - they should all have Send on Preset Change turned off if you don't want them to interfere with your preset actions.

So I've turned off mostly all Send on Preset Changes I've found, and now whenever I make presets, the GB is responding and not turning off like it was before. Thank you for the help! However, this brings me to another issue now. Since I don't have the GB in a loop on the PBC6X, whenever I use a preset with the GB on, then switch to a preset where the GB is not used, it's still on from the preset before. Is there any way to not have to add the CC Off state messages of the GB to every preset where it's not used? I've never used a pedal as midi only and not in a loop, so I wanted to check if I'm missing a shortcut to keeping it off without adding off messages to every preset where it's not used.

The best way to do it is to have ONE button that's in charge of the pedal's on/off state. Turn on Send on Preset Change and Update on Preset Change and program the button to be on or off for each preset. This will prevent you from having to add actions to each preset, you just program the button, just like you would program a loop.
