Phantom power unit for GT22?

Hi all,

Getting ready to purchase a GT22 & am a little confused about the phantom power options. Looking at this unit (https://www.rjmmusic.com/xcart/phantom-power-adapter-din7f-two-inputs-.html) to accomplish:

- phantom power the GT22
- connect midi from the GT22 to a Axe FX & Rack Gizmo

The reason for the confusion is the 7 pin connection states "output" & the 5 pin connections are "inputs"??

Wouldnt the 7 pin be receiving midi in, not sending midi out?

For the Axe-Fx, you don't need to use the 2-input model, you can get away with a 1-input one:

https://www.rjmmusic.com/xcart/phantom-power-adapter-din7f-one-input-.html?category_id=13

It saves you the need to connect a third MIDI cable. (The Axe-Fx's MIDI input is bidirectional)

I probably should change the wording on the website. I think I made the 7-pin an "output" because it's outputting phantom power, and the 5-pins "inputs" because... they're not the output? In any case, the 7-pin connects to the GT's MIDI output and the 5-pin connects to the Axe-Fx's MIDI input.

I just recieved this:

Phantom Power Adapter - DIN7F and I'm trying to phantom power the GT22, I have it setup to a axefxIII, how I think it should be, but its not working. are there instructions?

Instructions are in the GT manual. The relevant part is attached.

If MIDI communication is working, what part of it isn't working? Just power? Are you using a 7-pin MIDI cable on the "Phantom Power Output" side?

This is how I have it, no power. If I use a regular 5 PIN and the power supply directly to the GT22 that works fine. I just meant to communicate that everything BUT the phantom power is working.

That looks odd. That jack is supposed to be an XLR jack, but the plug doesn't look like an XLR. Can you take a picture of what the jack looks like?

That's definitely the wrong cable, I'm surprised it even fits. The cable should be DIN 7 male to XLR 6 female.

Best-tronics can make it, but they probably don't have it listed on their site. They make them for us, our part number is MIDICBL-X6M-7-HC-x, where x is number of feet.
