Roland FC-300 to Mini Amp Giz split to Dual Recto & G-Major

Hi everybody!
I controlled my Dual Rectifier (3 ch.) and my G-Major with my Mini amp Gizmo via a Roland FC-300 Midi foot controller in ''Standard'' mode. But, I tried to switch in ''Patch'' mode to fine tune & choose specific options in my rig.

For exemple, I know that the switchs 1 & 8 on the Gizmo switch the Mesa Clean channel and turn the effects loop On.
I programmed in my FC-300:

Patch Mode:

Midi ''On'': PC 01 / Ch. 01 / CC 088 / Value 064 (Gizmo Switch 1 On)
Midi ''On'': PC 02 / Ch. 01 / CC 089 / Value 000 (Gizmo Switch 2 Off)
Midi ''On'': PC 03 / Ch. 01 / CC 090 / Value 000 (Gizmo Switch 3 Off)
Midi ''On'': PC 04 / Ch. 01 / CC 091 / Value 000 (Gizmo Switch 4 Off)
Midi ''On'': PC 05 / Ch. 01 / CC 092 / Value 000 (Gizmo Switch 5 Off)
Midi ''On'': PC 06 / Ch. 01 / CC 093 / Value 000 (Gizmo Switch 6 Off)
Midi ''On'': PC 07 / Ch. 01 / CC 094 / Value 000 (Gizmo Switch 7 Off)
Midi ''On'': PC 08 / Ch. 01 / CC 095 / Value 064 (Gizmo Switch 8 On)

Midi ''Off'': PC 01 / Ch. 01 / CC 088 / Value 000 (Gizmo Switch 1 Off)
Midi ''Off'': PC 02 / Ch. 01 / CC 089 / Value 000 (Gizmo Switch 2 Off)
Midi ''Off'': PC 03 / Ch. 01 / CC 090 / Value 000 (Gizmo Switch 3 Off)
Midi ''Off'': PC 04 / Ch. 01 / CC 091 / Value 000 (Gizmo Switch 4 Off)
Midi ''Off'': PC 05 / Ch. 01 / CC 092 / Value 000 (Gizmo Switch 5 Off)
Midi ''Off'': PC 06 / Ch. 01 / CC 093 / Value 000 (Gizmo Switch 6 Off)
Midi ''Off'': PC 07 / Ch. 01 / CC 094 / Value 000 (Gizmo Switch 7 Off)
Midi ''Off'': PC 08 / Ch. 01 / CC 095 / Value 000 (Gizmo Switch 8 Off)

Off timing: Patch change

On the Mini Amp Gizmo: I make sure that the Midi channel is 1. (Hold the Switch 1 and Power On the Gizmo until the Leds flashed. I made sure that the led's 1-2-3 & 4 didn't light on. I pushed on the ''Write'' button.

It is not working! Somebody can help me please?

Thank you!

Re: Roland FC-300 to Mini Amp Giz split to Dual Recto & G-Ma

Yeah I know exactly what the problem is too many midi cc messages in the stream being sent to the miniamp gizmo

just set up a few presets in the mini amp gizmo

preset 1
all switches off

Preset 2
Switch 1 on

Preset 3
Switch 8 on

Preset 4
Switch 1 & 8 On

then in the fc300 to turn switches 1&8 on with pedal 1

Midi on
001:pC ch#01 pc#0004

Midi off
001:pc ch#01 pc#0001

then in the fc300 to turn switches 1 on with pedal 2

Midi on
001:pC ch#01 pc#0002

Midi off
001:pc ch#01 pc#0001
you can then switch on individual switches on the gizmo with cc messages sent from ctrl pedal etc if you wish in individual presets on the fc300

Re: Roland FC-300 to Mini Amp Giz split to Dual Recto & G-Ma

I read the Mini Amp Gizmo manual & I don't know how to presets these groups in the Mini Amp Gizmo. There are two options: Group mode or Quick setup Buttons. There is an explanation about how to do 1 group (of switchs) but not for more than 1! If I am trying to do a second group, is my first group will be delete?

This is how I wish to setup the Preset:

preset 1
all switches off

Preset 2
Switch 1 & 8 On

Preset 3
Switch 2 & 8 On

Preset 4
Switch 2, 6 & 8 On

Preset 5
Switch 3 & 8 On

Preset 6
Switch 3, 6 & 8 On

In the other side, for everything about my FC-300, it's perfect and it was easy to setup with your last post.

Thank you my friend for your help!

Re: Roland FC-300 to Mini Amp Giz split to Dual Recto & G-Ma

no the group function is different you stor a combination of button on/off positions in a preset in the gizmo as follows

send PC 0001 CH01 from the fc300

turn on manually any switch you want to be on
then press write on the gizmo
for preset 2

send PC 0002 CH01 from the fc300
turn on manually any switch you want to be on
then press write on the gizm0

and so on for each of the four presets

this will then save those settings as program 1 in the gizmo
and any time you want to recall those settings all you need to do is send PC 0001 o CH1 from the FC300

Re: Roland FC-300 to Mini Amp Giz split to Dual Recto & G-Ma

It work!!! I am so happy!!!

In ''PATCH MODE'', I'll show you what I did in my FC-300 Setup:

FC-300 Footswitch 1 = Clean Chorus = ''ON'' Midi: Ch 001 / PC: 001 (Mesa Clean channel 1 & effects loop ON)
FC-300 Footswitch 1 = Clean Chorus = ''OFF'' Midi: Ch 001 / PC: 001

FC-300 Footswitch 2 = Rythm 1 = ''ON'' Midi: Ch 001 / PC: 002 (Mesa Disto. channel 2 & effects loop ON)
FC-300 Footswitch 2 = Rythm 1 = ''OFF'' Midi: Ch 001 / PC: 002

FC-300 Footswitch 3 = Rythm 2 = ''ON'' Midi: Ch 001 / PC: 003 (Mesa Disto. channel 3 & effects loop ON)
FC-300 Footswitch 3 = Rythm 2 = ''OFF'' Midi: Ch 001 / PC: 003

FC-300 Footswitch 4 = Solo 1 = ''ON'' Midi: Ch 001 / PC: 004 (Mesa Disto. channel 2 & effects loop ON & Solo ON)
FC-300 Footswitch 4 = Solo 1 = ''OFF'' Midi: Ch 001 / PC: 004

FC-300 Footswitch 5 = Solo 2 = ''ON'' Midi: Ch 001 / PC: 005 (Mesa Disto. channel 3 & effects loop ON & Solo ON)
FC-300 Footswitch 5 = Solo 2 = ''OFF'' Midi: Ch 001 / PC: 005

Patch Off timing: Everything in ''Patch Change''

In my Mini Amp Gizmo:

The Mini Amp Gizmo presets stayed the same. My previous ''Standard mode'' presets worked in ''Patch mode''. I just had to use the right Midi messages in ''Patch Mode''. Now, I am going to know on which channel I am live onstage with the FC-300 LCD Screen.

In my T.C Electronics G-Major:

No changes!!! My FC-300 via the Mini Amp Gizmo choose the right effects for the right presets.

Thank you very much for your help!!! You saved me a lot of headaches!!!!

Re: Roland FC-300 to Mini Amp Giz split to Dual Recto & G-Ma

no problem you are more than welcome

Re: Roland FC-300 to Mini Amp Giz split to Dual Recto & G-Ma

There is a new issue! First, my amp/effects kit is set up to change channels/effects in one click. When I pushed on my FC-300 number's pedal, my G-Major effects patchs switched in one click anytime. It's ok for this part of my problem. But, sometimes, I had to push a second times on my FC-300's pedal to switch my Dual Rectifier channels. Sometimes, my amp channels didn't switch......sometimes they did!!!.... The issue is just in Patch Mode! In Standard Mode, there is no problem! It looks like a lack of MIDI signal strenght.

First MIDI cable: FC-300 MIDI ''Out'' to Mini Amp Gizmo MIDI ''In''
Second MIDI cable: Mini Amp Gizmo MIDI ''Thru/Out'' to G-Major MIDI ''In''

Somebody can help me?

Thank you!

Re: Roland FC-300 to Mini Amp Giz split to Dual Recto & G-Ma

its not a midi signal issue, the G major is the last unit in the chain.

However are the mini amp gizmo and the G major using the same midi channel ie channel 1 and are you sending 2 prog change messages
one for the G major and one for the mini amp gizmo, if you want to do that put the one of the units onto a different midi channel

What are you powering the miniamp gizmo with
