Split mono loop control

Hello all - I’m new to switchers and am looking at purchasing a PBC 6x. I would really prefer 9 loops and the ability to move between a “preset” mode and “stomp box” mode much like is available on the AxeFX. I recently discovered that the 6x can accommodate additional loops via TRS cables. Is it possible to control these additional loops via an external switch through the function outs or would the PBC10 be a better option to reach my goals?

There is an external switch input on the PBC/6X which can be used to add 2 more switches to the unit.

Since you can add more loops to the unit than you can add buttons, the typical solution is to have two pages of stomp box mode, where one accesses loops 1-6 and the other loops 7-11 (assuming all loops are split, including the insert loop)
