Hi:
I'm eyeing a return to RJM and have a couple questions about my build/use case. I am leaning towards a PBC 6X combined with either a microline mixer or a Parallelizer mk2 (EFX). I am running a stereo direct rig utilizing several mono drive/compressor/pitch/flanger/vibrato pedals before going stereo into a dual 'amp' setup with UAD Ruby and UAD Dream in stereo, followed by several stereo effects (Strymon Mobius, Walrus Meraki, Strymon Dig, Strymon Big Sky).
I would like to ideally be able to do the following:
1) I'd like to have the option of using the Ruby and Dream in stereo or, when I choose, running either just the Dream or Just the Ruby in mono into the remainder of my effects. Is there a way you'd recommend setting up the PBC6X to do this? Run them both in loop 6 via TRS and disable one half or the other when I don't want the other one?
2) I would like to be able to run my Delays and Reverbs in Stereo Parallel. Icing on top would be the option to run the Mobius in parallel as well, though that's a lower priority, as I would mostly be fine running the Mobius in Stereo before I go into a parallel mixer. Would the Microline Mixer allow me to have the Meraki, Dig, and Bigsky each in stereo parallel? Or would I need to put both of my delays in one and reverb in the other? Any recommendations you'd have for a signal path with this sort of build? Also, I like to run a Strymon Deco in stereo at the end of my chain. What outputs would go from the stereo line mixer into that?
Before PBC6X - Digitech Whammy
Loop 1 - Mono Fuzz
Loop 2 - Mono Overdrive
Loop 3 - Mono EP Booster
Loop 4 - Mono Compressor
Insert Loop - Mono Flanger
Loop 5 - Mono Vibrato
Loop 6 - UAD Ruby | (Lehle pedal with phase switch/ground lift) Dream
PBC 6X Stereo Out -> Strymon Mobius (Stereo) -> Microline Mixer/Parallelizer (with each doing stereo sends into DIG, Meraki, BigSky) -> Stereo to Strymon Deco.
How would my dry signal come through AND a stereo signal come out of the mixer into the Deco? Would I utilize the 'dry' output (and flip the internal switch to make it stereo) so I could have the Dig, Meraki, and Bigsky each in their own stereo send for the mixer?
The main reason I am considering the Parallelizer is that it has stomp switches, 3 stereo lines AND dry, and midi control each FX and Dry on/off. I'm interested in the microline mixer because it's smaller and could be wired under my board (saving space) and I think the 'on/off' could be handled via midi control to each of the midi capable delay/verb pedals.
Any other changes you'd recommend? Any potential phase/other problems with this build?
I had considered going for the PBC10, but my understanding is that its internal line mixer doesn't do the stereo parallel effects I'd want, and that the microline mixer or the Parallelizer are more appropriate for this use case. Fair?
Thanks,
