How about a Buffer Box for the Buffer that is in the RG-16?

Just a suggestion to see the interest and so that we remember to do it!

The buffer in the RG-16 / Effect Gizmo is really transparent and musical. Now that Axess has gone, and with it the BS-2, is a buffer / splitter like that for use on pedalboards a good suggestion for a product?

An input selector unit as a standard product? Perhaps even an input selector and a line mixer in one 1/2 rack unit so you could mount that and an Amp Gizmo side by side on a rack shelf? OK so we're possibly getting a bit specialised now!

Also a Super-Mastermind, with another row of presets (or selectable between 5 and 10 patches per bank with the others becoming IA switches) would be awesome for those of us who sing as well, so get confused when changing banks while trying to remember lyrics! Or even (as I've suggested before) a mini Mastermind-extension, with a 6th preset and a Tap Tempo button or something. That'd rock.

Yes, we're definitely thinking about this idea... It would be pretty easy to do.

All good ideas, probably won't happen soon, but will be put on the queue for further investigation!

    RG-16 "Click Stopper" addition

An RG-16 improvement suggestions is to add the "Click Stopper" technology greatly reduces the switching noise associated with relay based switchers" as currently availabe on the Effect Gizmo.

    Thanks,

Thinking about the Click Stopper, would there be any market for putting that in a small form-factor unit, either for pedalboard use or in one of the 1/4U boxes? Maybe combined with something (can't think what at the moment - too early for my brain ;))

The Click Stopper needs to be integrated with the switcher it controls - it needs to know exactly when the relays are switching and turn on only at that time. So, an outboard unit wouldn't really work.

That said, maybe there's a way to do it with a completely different approach than we're using right now. Trying to get switching that is both noise-free and transparent is the holy grail in these types of products - I keep working on it!

Hadn't thought of that... yeah, makes sense. I was thinking maybe more of a midi thing that detects program changes etc and temporarily mutes the signal to prevent pops or something. The click stopper going into the RG-16 would be a good thing, and might make me buy another one (actually thinking about doing that anyway, but that's another thing!)

Device to connect 2 heads using 1 speaker cabinet

Another suggestion, either to add to RG-16, if it is possible or to create a separate device, would be an interface that receives speaker output connections from 2 heads and sends the signal, one at a time, to a single speaker cabinet. So, in that way, people that uses 2 heads switching back and forth through RG-16, would not worry about carring 2 speaker cabinets to rehearsals and shows.

There is one device already available in the market called Headbone VT, however, it does not work if you have any delay effect connect to one of the heads and also you have to have a signal from the guitar flowing through it rather than the signal from your head speaker output only.

    Thanks,

Yes! With the Mesa High Gain Amp Switcher being almost unobtainable, the Headbone generally not being great (not helped by it's footpedal form factor - who wants to run speaker cables to their pedalboard?), and Sound Sculpture no longer making the Headtrip, a head switcher would be an awesome idea.

Maybe I shouldn't sell the stereo power amp just yet!

Though my idea is kinda specific/custom for me, it might be a good optional mod for guys that wanna use their Mini Line Mixers on a pedal tray or rack shelf like I'm planning to do..

I'm also VERY interested in a buffer in a box. Something small like the BS2, or even smaller like the JHS Mini Buffer. I've been reluctant to buy one from them because I don't know how it sounds. I do however know how the RJM buffer sounds, which is great!!

Do you all think that the isolation transformer is a useful option on a buffer? The side effects would be a price increase (around $25) and slightly larger size.

Yes, but only as an optional 'ISO Split Out' for tuners or direct boxes.

A mastermind "pro" should be a great new product, original mastermind has no lacks in features and it's easy to transport but it has limited possibilities due to its reduct size. people who wants great integration and easily programmability with rjm switchers AND a larger controller would definetly go for this route.

in my case i bought the mastermind for the "ready to go" approach with the rg16...so this makes sense.

    a headswitcher should work too!!

I also think a more advanced pedal is in order. When Mario from Axess closed up, he said he was taking offers for his products. I left Ron a message about making an offer on some of Mario's stuff, primarily the FX1. 12 to 16 instant access switches would be awesome for RJM as the Effects Gizmo needs 12, and the RG16 needs 16.

Thanks guys, keep 'em comin'! The bigger controller idea comes up frequently. I'm putting a lot of thought into it, and have some ideas to go well beyond the controllers that are on the market now. (Read: it's gonna take a while!)
